Dalle De Verre, or “slab glass” is a technique that was developed in Europe for use is early Christian churches. Originally colored chunks of glass were set into stone or clay. Sophie Drouin returns to CMS  to introduce students to this technique with an exclusive 5-day workshop. Participants will combine dalle de verre with other materials to create pieces that combine mosaic techniques, sculptural  elements and the translucence of stained glass. Participants will learn a special moulding process allows the creation of curved and graceful shapes that incorporates a built-in hanging mechanism.
