CMS Gallery is dedicated to exhibiting fine contemporary mosaics from emerging artists to modern masters. The gallery is open year round and is located within The Chicago Mosaic School, the first mosaic art school in the US. CMS Gallery opened in 2007 when The Chicago Mosaic School moved to a larger facility in the Ravenswood Arts Corridor.
Our exhibition space is dedicated to showcasing the finest in contemporary mosaic art from around the world. Past exhibitions have included: “Archetype & Invention”, a collaborative show featuring work by Chicago artists Larry Zgoda and John Hatlestad, “12 x 12 Show”, a international small works show, “Land Divisions: Landscapes in Mosaic”, a national juried exhibition and “About/Face: Portraits in Contemporary Mosaic” an exhibition curated by Texas artist Shug Jones.
We will continue to bring Mosaic Art to Chicago and to the world at CMS Gallery.
CMS Gallery is overseen by volunteer Gallery Director Sue Coombs along with the support of Chicago Mosaic School staff and volunteers. The staff and volunteers of Chicago Mosaic School and CMS Gallery hope you will take the time to visit the satellite CMS Gallery space, The Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics, at Navy Pier Chicago.
